Dan is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with deep roots in DuPage County, where he was born and raised. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law. At Fawell & Associates, Dan focuses on criminal defense and driver's license reinstatement, providing strategic and results-driven representation for his clients.

During law school, Dan gained valuable courtroom experience clerking for the Honorable John W. Darrah, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the 3rd District.

For more than seven years, Dan served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County, prosecuting cases at every level—from misdemeanors to the most serious felony offenses. He worked across multiple divisions, including traffic, domestic violence, felony court, felony screening, the narcotics unit, and the sex crimes unit. During his tenure, he prosecuted a wide range of serious offenses, including murder, sexual assault, and narcotics cases. Dan has taken more than 100 cases to trial, achieving successful outcomes in complex and high-stakes prosecutions.

Now in private practice, Dan uses his deep knowledge of the criminal justice system to protect the rights of those facing charges and help clients move forward with their lives.
